Job summary

Abbott in Atlanta is seeking a production assembler to perform electronic assembly, welding, x-ray, casting/coating, and mechanical assembly of pacemakers, ICDs, leads, and related devices in a clean-room environment.

You will follow established procedures, inspect parts, use precision tools, and ensure accurate documentation. A high school diploma with 2 years of relevant assembly experience and 1 year in a bio-medical or clean-room setting are required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and hands-on assembly experience.
• Minimum 2 years in assembly of digital/analog circuitry, devices or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year in bio-medical field or clean-room environment with environmental controls.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal/written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, weld, solder, and x-ray medical devices and related parts using microscopes and precision tools.
• Locate and correct problems by inspecting devices; test units with computerized equipment.
• Perform casting/coating operations and fix bubbles/epoxy issues following procedures.
• Conduct mechanical assembly and packaging, ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Provide assistance to expedite priority tasks and communicate production issues to supervision.
• Follow FDA regulations, EMS/QMS requirements, and company policies.
