Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a Machine Operator to support precision manufacturing of power transmission components and related parts. You will read instructions, set up fixtures, and operate a range of machines to meet quality standards.

The role requires the ability to follow procedures, handle heavy items, and maintain safe, organized work areas while collaborating with a team to optimize production processes.

Qualifications

• Average math skills and ability to read English.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and position heavy items.
• Must follow hours and company timekeeping policies.
• Must stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Willingness to learn machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Collaborate with supervisors to optimize production.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
• Install machine fixtures to ensure safe operation.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines.
• Inspect finished products and verify tolerances with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and keep the area clean.
• Perform other duties as needed.
