Job summary

Oldcastle APG is seeking a Plant Operator to operate and monitor plant machinery, ensuring products meet quality standards and safety requirements. The role involves adjusting equipment, inspecting outputs, and maintaining orderly work areas in a high-paced environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read safety and operation manuals, and lift up to 50 lbs. The job requires flexibility in scheduling and independent work, with experience in block/paver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1 month related experience
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• Able to stand for long hours
• Able to handle problems with multiple concrete variables
• Maintain high accuracy in tasks
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Must be able to determine color
• Previous block/paver experience preferred
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance ensuring it meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and other tasks to meet deadlines and complete production
• Maintain clean and orderly work area
• Other duties as needed
