Job summary

Oldcastle APG is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator in the United States to operate and monitor machinery per safety rules and procedures to produce high-quality precast products.

Responsibilities include reading specs, setting stops, detecting defects, performing routine maintenance, assisting teammates, and keeping a clean, organized work area. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic electronics knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or related experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and tools.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions and manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units.
• Computer literacy and strong mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area in a clear and orderly fashion.
