Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, seeks a machine operator responsible for operating machinery per safety policies to produce a superior product. You will read specifications, set up equipment, monitor quality, and perform routine maintenance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and tools, with strong math and computer skills. Leadership abilities are preferred and compliance with safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 month related experience
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and tools
• Ability to read safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions
• Ability to perform basic math in all units of measure
• Must have computer literacy and strong mechanical ability
• Leadership abilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths per scale or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions
• Review product quality for consistency and to meet requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist operators with setup and related tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintain clear and orderly housekeeping in assigned area
