Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an ID/OD Grinder in Loves Park, IL. The role involves setting up and operating Studer grinding machines to produce precision aerospace components, reading blueprints and GD&T, and using micrometers and gauges to verify accuracy.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of ID/OD grinding experience, proficient in reading technical drawings, and capable of making machine offsets and adjustments as needed. This is a contract-to-hire onsite role with potential travel.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on ID/OD grinding experience.
• Experience on Studer S33/S41/S31 or similar.
• Ability to read blueprints including GD&T and follow work instructions.
• Proficiency with micrometers, bore gauges, calipers and other precision tools.
• Experience with centerless, cylindrical and manual grinding.
• Ability to perform machine offsets and minor program adjustments.
• Familiarity with aerospace-related high-spec work may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ID/OD grinding machines (S33/S41/S31 or similar).
• Grind to tight tolerances on aerospace-grade components.
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T for dimensions and tolerances.
• Use micrometers, bore gauges, calipers for inspections and verification.
• Document measurements and adjustments; troubleshoot with team.
