Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Grind Machinist to operate manual and CNC grinders, ensuring parts meet blueprint specifications. You’ll work with Heald, Toyoda, Okamoto, and Kellenberger machines, perform setups, and inspect with micrometers and gages to tight tolerances.

Prior ID/OD grinding experience is preferred; training available for the right candidate. Expect a fast-paced, detail-driven role in a defense and aerospace environment with strong emphasis on quality and process improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNC experience preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5+ years ID/OD grinding experience preferred; training available.
• Experience with precision grinding to tight tolerances and inspection gauges.

Responsibilities

• Grind and blend steel to prep for paint or coating.
• Mount, calibrate and operate various grinding attachments.
• Maintain inspection records and reports; work to tight tolerances.
• Operate 2 machines regularly; communicate process improvements.
