Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking an ID/OD Grinder II for a 3rd shift, onsite in Downers Grove, IL. The role offers a pay rate of $25–$30 per hour DOE with an additional $2 shift differential and weekend OT opportunities.

Strong preference for AS9100/Lean background and aerospace experience. The candidate will set up and operate Studer ID/OD grinders, perform first article and in-process inspections, and contribute to process improvements to reduce variation and ensure first article

• Experience with Studer machines and first article inspection.

Job description

JSG is seeking an ID/OD Grinder II (3rd shift) for a temp to hire, onsite position for our growing Aerospace client in Downers Grove, IL. They are in major expansion mode. PAY RATE: $25 - $30 DOE + $2 Shift differential and weekend OT is available Our client Promotes from w/ in & Supervisors can approve raises automatically w/ out approval from their Manager - 15 raises across the company just last quarter. Newer building with controlled climate and excellent amenities.

Job Responsibilities

3+ years of experience grinding on a Studer machine ID/OD, Face and Centerless Grinding exp. Completes set-ups with general supervision/assistance. Responsible for all phases of part operation set-up to achieve first article acceptance. Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records. Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.

Qualifications

Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts. Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003”) of ID’s, hold .0003 profile, roundness. Understanding of machine tool accuracies, tool offsets. Knowledge of cutting wheel feeds, speeds, and wheel life for aerospace grinding. Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs (over 25 lbs with assistance). Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.
