Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and operate production equipment, read blueprints, and inspect parts to tight tolerances. The role requires knowledge of Haas and Fanuc controls, GD&T, and basic programming, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

The position offers a 5:45am–2:15pm schedule, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates should have 3–5 years of related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CNC certification is a major plus.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls and CNC programming is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC Production Equipment for milling, turning, or similar operations.
• Machine and fixture parts to tight tolerances based on specifications.
• Read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and verify dimensions with inspection tools.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and meet delivery timelines.
