Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate 3- and 4-axis vertical and horizontal milling machines in accordance with inch and metric drawings.

The role requires Haas and Fanuc controls, G-codes/M-codes, and the ability to read blueprints and GD&T. A shift differential applies with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Experience with DNC systems and Lean principles is a plus. Excellent safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a similar CNC role with training in CNC programming.
• Ability to set up and operate 3- and 4-axis milling machines.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls and reading complex blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Performs set ups on Vertical and Horizontal CNC Milling Machines (3 & 4 axis).
• Reads blueprints and GD&T to ensure tight tolerances.
• Operates machines and inspects finished parts for conformance.
• Maintains DNC systems and uses G/M codes for programming.
• Performs routine maintenance and supports on-time deliveries.
• Adheres to safety and housekeeping standards.
