Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a CNC operator in Newton, NJ to set up and run CNC machines, inspect parts, and maintain tooling. The role requires reading blueprints and GD&T, plus programming basics with Haas and Fanuc controls.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience, a CNC certification or trade school background, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position offers a sign-on bonus and a stable daytime shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CNC cert or trade school is a major plus.
• 3–5 years of CNC experience preferred; strong reading of blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls and manual programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (milling/turning) per drawings.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure conformance.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and tool setup tasks.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean workspace.
