Job summary

SMArtX Advisory Solutions is seeking a driven Billing Specialist to support monthly billing and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate revenue and clean customer accounts. The role demands organization, independence, and careful attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years in billing, strong Excel skills, and experience with QuickBooks Online. Familiarity with SAP Ariba or proprietary systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related accounting function.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and SUMIFS.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with SAP Ariba is a plus.
• Experience with proprietary billing or accounting systems is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly billing process to ensure invoices are accurate and completed on schedule.
• Generate and distribute monthly invoices to customers.
• Post revenue accurately within the company’s accounting and billing systems.
• Post payments received to the appropriate customer accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts and research payment discrepancies, deficits, and unapplied balances.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up professionally with customers regarding unpaid balances.
• Update, review, and verify customer billing rates within the company’s proprietary billing system.
• Respond to customer billing inquiries and assist with resolving account discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized billing records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
