Job summary

Amrize, a leading construction materials company, is hiring a Screed Operator in the Asphalt division. You will set up and operate the screed to achieve precise grades, slopes, and mat thickness on highway and commercial projects, coordinating with the paving crew and monitoring flow and temperature for a smooth surface.

Must have 2–3 years of hands‑on screed experience, the ability to read plans, and a commitment to safety. Daily travel is required with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt screeds on highway or commercial projects.
• Ability to read project plans, profiles and layout markings.
• Reliable transportation for daily travel to site.
• Commitment to job-site safety and PPE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate asphalt screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway paving projects.
• Read and interpret project plans, profiles, and layout markings to ensure precise paving results.
• Monitor asphalt flow, temperature, and material distribution for consistent surface quality.
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain smooth workflow and production schedules.
• Identify and correct surface irregularities and perform routine equipment inspections.
• Ensure compliance with highway safety regulations, traffic control plans, and job-site protocols.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas while supporting the paving crew for efficient operations.
• Promote safety and environmental policies on all work environments.
