Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is hiring a Screed Operator for our Asphalt division in the United States.

You will set up, operate, and monitor asphalt screeds to achieve precise grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway and commercial projects. You will read project plans, coordinate with paver and roller crews, monitor asphalt flow and temperature, and perform routine equipment inspections while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years' hands-on screed operating experience.
• Daily travel with reliable transportation.
• Strong knowledge of screed setup and operation.
• Ability to read project plans and grade profiles.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate asphalt screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway paving projects
• Read and interpret project plans, profiles, and layout markings to ensure precise paving results
• Monitor asphalt flow, temperature, and material distribution for consistent surface quality
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain smooth workflow and production schedules
• Identify and correct surface irregularities such as bumps, low spots, or uneven compaction
• Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting as needed
• Ensure compliance with highway safety regulations, traffic control plans, and job site protocols
• Maintain clean and organized work areas while supporting the paving crew for efficient operations
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
