• Knowledge of screed setup, adjustments, and operation to achieve proper grade and mat thickness.
• Commitment to job site safety, traffic control, and highway paving protocols.

• Set up, adjust, and operate asphalt screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway projects.
• Read and interpret project plans, profiles, and layout markings to ensure precise paving results.
• Monitor asphalt flow, temperature, and material distribution for consistent surface quality.
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain smooth workflow and production schedules.
• Identify and correct surface irregularities such as bumps or low spots.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and minor preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with highway safety regulations and job site protocols.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; support paving crew.
