Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Dimensional Inspection professional to ensure aerospace components meet tight tolerances and design data. You will use laser trackers, CMMs, portable arms, and blue light inspection to verify first article, in-process, and final parts, collaborating with engineers and machinists.

You will maintain documentation, drive process improvements, and uphold AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems in a safe industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Laser Tracker, CMM, Portable Arm, Blue light programming and operation.
• Superior blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018.
• Proficient with precision hand tools, gauges, optical comparators, and surface plate work.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high-value components.
• AS9100/ISO9000 familiarity.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inspection data templates using Excel for data analysis and CAM inspection.
• Inspection Software Quality Assurance.
• Program, setup and operate inspection equipment including Leica laser tracker, Romer arm, CMM, Blue Light, Keyence; Manual Layout.
• Using design data to inspect machined and received components.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
• Document Non Conformance reports as required.
• Provide inspection time estimates.
• Process improvement including inspection cycle time reductions.
• Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
• Safely work within an industrial environment.
