Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Dimensional Inspector II on the second shift to inspect development and flight vehicle components with tight tolerances, using Leica laser trackers, Romer arm, CMM, and blue light systems.

You will generate dimensional data, provide feedback to machinists and engineers, document non-conformances, and help reduce inspection cycle times while maintaining safety and compliance with AS9100/ISO9000.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Proficient with Laser Tracker, CMM, Portable Arm, and Blue Light programming/operation.
• Strong GD&T interpretation in line with ASME Y14.5-2018.
• Excellent reading of blueprints and precision hand tools.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high-value components.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation for Computer Aided Manufacturing inspection by creating data analysis templates using Microsoft Excel.
• Inspection Software Quality Assurance.
• Program, setup and operate a variety of inspection equipment including Leica laser tracker; Romer arm; CMM; Blue Light; Keyence; Manual Layout.
• Using design data to inspect machined and received components.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
• Document Non Conformance reports as required.
• Provide inspection time estimates.
• Process improvement including inspection cycle time reductions.
• Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
• Safely work within an industrial environment.
