Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is hiring for an inspection specialist within our Operations team in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on dimensional inspection of aerospace components, using Taylor Hobson, CMM, laser trackers, Romer arms, and blue light devices to inspect machined and received parts.

You will perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections, provide dimensional data feedback to machinists and engineers, and maintain calibration and records while supporting continuous

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Laser Tracker Experience
• Blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, schedules, and operational demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Microsoft Office Proficiency.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• programing, setup, operating, and assisting multiple technologies such as Taylor Hobson; Blue light; CMM; laser tracker; Romer arm; manual layout mechanical inspection using Blueprints to inspect machined and received components.
• Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
• Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
• Document, track and complete discrepancy reports.
• There will be times that you will need to provide inspection time estimates.
• Maintain and track inspection equipment calibrations.
• Support process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain configuration control on files and job records and safely work within an industrial environment.
