Elsevier’s Advanced Data Solutions team seeks a Technical Consultant (Pre-Sales) to partner with Sales, shape data-driven use cases, and demonstrate how Elsevier’s data and software enable analytics, AI workflows, and trusted knowledge graphs.

In this pre-sales role, you will lead technical discovery, prepare proposals, support PoCs, stay current with AI advances, and travel to client sites. Strong communication and technical storytelling are essential.

Competenze

• Deep understanding of data-driven analytics workflows including ingestion, enrichment, integration, and insight generation.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based solutions (RAG, prompt design, agentic workflows) and of how NER, ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graphs apply to real-world use cases.
• Experience with cloud and technical ecosystems (AWS, REST APIs, SFTP, OAuth, Docker, Python) and AI platforms, tooling, and integration patterns (LLM APIs, MCP).
• A degree in a science, technology, or data field (Master’s or PhD advantageous).
• Experience in data-intensive enterprise environments (tech, engineering, pharma, life sciences) and willingness to learn scientific domains.
• Understanding of how data and software support research, analytics, and decision-making.
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations and presentations to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.

Mansioni

• Develop and maintain expertise in Elsevier’s solutions, including data APIs and integration options, MCP servers, AI agents, and knowledge graphs.
• Lead technical discovery to translate customer objectives into data-driven use cases and value narratives.
• Design and deliver tailored demonstrations showcasing discovery, analytics, AI-powered workflows, agents, and knowledge graphs.
• Scope and prepare proposals; support PoCs, technical evaluations, and pilots with clear trade-offs and dependencies.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle and support solution positioning and differentiation.
• Stay current with AI developments and advise customers on applying them with Elsevier data; leverage AI tools to improve pre-sales output.
