Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Technical Consultant (Pre-Sales) to drive revenue by partnering with Sales, shaping data-driven use cases, and demonstrating how Elsevier’s data and software enable advanced analytics and AI-enabled workflows. You will act as the technical authority through the sales cycle, grounding LLMs, agents, and RAG applications in trusted scientific data.

You will develop expertise in Elsevier’s solutions, including data APIs, MCP servers, AI agents, and SciBite, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Strong technical foundation and data analytics expertise.
• Experience in data-intensive enterprise environments.
• Excellent customer-facing skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery to translate objectives into data-driven use cases.
• Design and deliver tailored demonstrations of Elsevier data and software.
• Support PoCs, proofs of concept, and pilot engagements.
• Act as trusted technical advisor across the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with Product and Professional Services to ensure successful delivery.
