Job summary

Elsevier's Advanced Data Solutions team seeks a Technical Consultant (Pre-Sales) to drive revenue by aligning data and software solutions with customer objectives. You will lead technical discovery, shape data-driven use cases, and demonstrate how Elsevier’s data and analytics capabilities empower trusted insights and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of data-driven analytics workflows (ingestion, enrichment, integration, insight generation).
• Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLM-based solutions (RAG, prompt design, agentic workflows, responsible AI).
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, REST APIs, SFTP, OAuth, Docker, Python) and AI platforms/integration patterns (LLM APIs, MCP).
• Degree in science/tech/data or equivalent practical experience (Master’s/PhD advantageous).
• Experience in data-intensive enterprise environments (tech, engineering, pharma, life sciences).
• Experience delivering technical demos to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales solution leadership across discovery, use-case shaping, and value storytelling.
• Design and deliver tailored demonstrations of data/AI-enabled insights and knowledge graphs.
• Scope, prepare proposals, and support PoCs, evaluations, and pilots with clear trade-offs and dependencies.
• Act as trusted technical advisor across sales cycles and cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with AI developments and advise on responsible AI practices.
