Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Technical Consultant (Pre-Sales) to drive revenue by positioning data and software solutions and AI capabilities across North America. You will lead technical discovery, shape data-driven use cases, and demonstrate how Elsevier can power analytics, knowledge graphs, and AI-enabled workflows grounded in trusted scientific data.

Qualifications

• Understanding of data-driven analytics workflows including ingestion, enrichment and insight generation
• Working knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based solutions (RAG, prompts, agentic workflows)
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, REST APIs, SFTP, HTTP, OAuth) and AI tooling
• Degree in science/tech/data field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in data-intensive enterprise environments; life sciences experience desirable
• Ability to demonstrate/analyze data-driven use cases to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication, storytelling and stakeholder-management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales solution leadership through discovery and value articulation
• Deliver tailored demonstrations showcasing data, analytics and AI-enabled workflows
• Prepare solution proposals, PoCs and pilot assessments with clear trade-offs
• Collaborate with product and services teams to validate feasibility and delivery
• Act as trusted technical advisor across the sales cycle and competitive positioning
• Stay current on AI developments and responsibly apply them with Elsevier data
