Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Solutions Engineer in the United States to drive the technical pre‑sales motion for the CDP Platform. You will partner with Account Executives to uncover customer drivers, present architectures, and demonstrate concrete business value, influencing buying decisions across executives and technical leaders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in pre‑sales, strong discovery and demo skills, experience with Hadoop ecosystem components, and cloud infrastructures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a pre-sales customer‑facing role in enterprise environments.
• Experience with technical discovery, whiteboarding architectures, and demos.
• Hands-on with Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS/YARN) and cloud infra.
• Experience with Linux, VM/container platforms and private/public clouds.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver customer-centric solution designs, architectures and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering.
• Advise customers on use case patterns through discovery and workshops.
• Transform feedback into actionable product roadmap items.
• Define technical selling strategy with teammates and management.
• Engage with the Cloudera community and contribute to knowledge repositories.
