Job summary

Mixpanel, the leading product intelligence and analytics platform, is seeking a Customer Engineer to own the pre-sales technical journey—from discovery to POC—and to ensure a fast, clear handoff to Delivery Engineers.

You will design demos, validate technical fit, and collaborate with Account Executives on deal strategy, while staying focused on outcomes and customer value across the full commercial lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a technical pre-sales role at a B2B SaaS company.
• Technical foundation in data analytics, event tracking, APIs, data warehouses, or adjacent domains.
• Commercial instinct to win deals and focus on outcomes.
• Ability to run structured POCs with defined success criteria and measurable outcomes.
• Clear, compelling communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Competitive knowledge of the analytics landscape and quick learning ability.
• Humble, hungry, smart, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery, establishing business challenges, technical environment, and qualification before POC.
• Design and deliver tailored, research-backed demos showing Mixpanel's capabilities for outcomes.
• Establish technical fit and scope requirements before POC begins.
• Own competitive positioning against Amplitude, PostHog, and warehouse-native options.
• Run structured POCs with defined success criteria and a clear handoff package for Delivery Engineers.
• Return post-sale for cross-sell and strategic expansion with new evaluations.
• Partner with Account Executives on deal strategy and technical objections.
• Stay close to Delivery Engineers to reflect production realities in POCs.
