Job summary

Mixpanel is seeking a Customer Engineer to own the pre-sales technical journey from discovery to proof of concept. You will design demos, validate technical fit, and ensure a seamless handoff to Delivery Engineers after a successful POC.

The role emphasizes outcomes, clear communication, and collaboration with Account Executives on deal strategy. Ideal candidates combine strong data analytics knowledge with a proven ability to run structured, outcome-driven POCs and to articulate technical value

Qualifications

2–4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a technical pre-sales role at a B2B SaaS company.
Technical foundation in data analytics, event tracking, APIs, data warehouses, or adjacent domains.
Commercial instinct and ability to win deals with a technically informed approach.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery, identifying the prospect's challenges and environment before a POC.
Design and deliver tailored, research-backed demos linking Mixpanel capabilities to business outcomes.
Define scope and success criteria for POCs with measurable outcomes.
Own competitive technical positioning against key players like Amplitude, PostHog, and warehouse-native solutions.
Run structured POCs with a clearly defined focus metric and practical handoff to Delivery Engineers.
