Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical expertise in welding automation, pre-sales engineering, or robotic systems integration.
- Solid understanding of GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG processes and how material selection affects feasibility.
- Proficiency in CAD/layout review using AutoCAD or SolidWorks is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical feasibility reviews by evaluating customer parts, drawings, and specs for weld feasibility and scope.
- Architect welding automation concepts including processes, power sources, tooling, and robot layouts (FANUC/ABB).
- Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle-time estimates, labor hours, and BOMs.
- Coordinate weld sample evaluations, testing, and feasibility proof prior to contract.
- Travel to customer facilities (~15%) to gather requirements, lead design reviews, and present solutions.
- Ensure weld processes meet AWS D1.1, ASME IX, and customer specs.
