Job summary

Mercy in Webster Groves, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Ambulatory Surgery Unit. The Pre-Admission Nurse will perform assessments, collect medical histories, and coordinate with anesthesia to prepare patients for surgery.

This role supports the ASU team, works with patients of all ages, and adheres to Mercy standards. Weekend rotation and major/minor holidays are required, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person.
• Collect the patient's medical history from previous medical records.
• Coordinate with the anesthesia department in coordinating the patient's needs.
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care for patients per the plan of care and policies.
