Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit in a Pre-Admission role including weekend rotation. The nurse will perform pre-admission assessments, gather medical histories, and coordinate with anesthesia to ensure patient needs are met.

The position requires an accredited nursing program graduate, active RN license, and at least 2 years of RN experience, with BLS certification. Mercy offers strong benefits, PTO, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess with the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect the patient’s medical history from previous records.
• Coordinate the patient’s needs with the anesthesia department.
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care for patients per the plan of care and policies.
• Perform duties in line with Mercy Service Standards.
