Job summary

Mercy’s Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Pre-Admission duties in a weekend-rotation role. Responsibilities include nursing assessment, collecting medical histories, and coordinating with anesthesia for patient needs.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, current Missouri RN license, and a minimum of 2 years RN experience, with BLS certification. BSN preferred; ACLS/PALS a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect patients' medical history from prior records.
• Coordinate patient needs with the anesthesia department.
• Perform direct patient care for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care per plan and hospital policies.
