Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K Blended to support licensed teachers across general, special education, and Title I settings. The role involves assisting in instruction, planning with teachers, and helping with student supervision and safety in a blended Pre-K environment.

The position requires a High School diploma and progress toward an Associate’s degree; ESSA Title I requirements apply for certain sites. CPI certification is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and progress toward an Associate’s degree in birth-through-kindergarten or related field.
• Must meet ESSA requirements for Title I schools.
• CPI certification required or to be provided; CPI training available.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support individual students or small groups in all Pre-K areas.
• Help prepare materials and maintain records with confidentiality.
• Collaborate with staff to implement strategies for diverse learners.
• Participate in district staff development and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Assist with health and safety tasks and CPI-related duties as needed.
