Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K for blended assignments across General Education, Special Education, and Title I sites. Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or CDA credential, with progress toward an associate degree if pursuing NC Pre-K, and must comply with ESSA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and working towards an associate degree in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or related field, or a CDA credential.
• Instructional assistants working toward the associate degree must progress with six documented hours per year.
• In Title I schools, meet ESSA employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and prepare materials for lessons.
• Support individual students or small groups in pre-K curriculum areas as directed.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies for childcare licensure requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation for student records.
• Participate in district staff development and professional growth.
• Ensure a safe, caring, and healthy environment for all students.
• Assist with health-related student support and CPI-related activities.
