The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers, maintaining safety, and implementing strategies across diverse student needs. CPI certification is required or provided, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and progress toward an associate degree in birth-through-kindergarten or related field.
• For Pre-K Title I, ESSA requirements apply and ongoing progress toward degree is expected.
• Instructional assistants may pursue a CDA credential as part of licensure progression.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and maintain a safe, caring classroom environment.
• Support in planning, organizing, and materials preparation per lesson plan.
• Supervise students and collaborate with staff to ensure student well-being.
• Coordinate with teachers on health, behavior, and instructional strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required reports and records.
• Assist with students with health needs and CPI-related procedures as required.
