Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K Blended to support Pre-K classrooms across General Education, Special Education, and Title I sites. The role assists teachers, supports individual and small groups, and helps implement instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.

This noncertified, nonexempt position requires CPI certification and adherence to FERPA. Work week is Monday–Friday with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and progress toward an associate degree in ECE or related field; six documented semester hours per year.
• For Title I schools, comply with ESSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional activities and classroom management to support licensed teachers.
• Coordinate with teachers to prepare materials and maintain confidentiality.
• Support safety and well-being of students and assist in health-related routines.
• Provide in-class assistance to individual students or groups as directed.
