Job summary

IES Residential is seeking a Pre-Construction Specialist to join our team. You will support pre-construction operations through project coordination, document management, scheduling assistance, and communication with internal teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

This role helps ensure projects are organized and prepared before construction begins, offering opportunities to collaborate across estimating, purchasing, operations, and project management while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in construction administration, project coordination, or pre-construction
• Residential construction industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist all phases of the pre-construction process from initiation to handoff.
• Review project documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, operations, and project management teams.
• Prepare and maintain project files, schedules, reports, and documentation.
• Track project timelines, deliverables, approvals, and material requirements.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments on updates.
• Support permit processing and project setup activities.
• Maintain accurate records and proper filing of documentation.
• Identify and communicate potential issues to management.
• Participate in project meetings and provide administrative support.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
