Job summary

SGC Power is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive growth across North America. This remote role requires up to 60% travel to client sites, trade shows, and workshops, expanding opportunities within new and existing accounts.

Responsibilities include identifying opportunities, onboarding new clients, and executing a strategic BD plan to support profitable expansion. A technical or engineering background is preferred with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical (Engineering, Construction, or similar), business, or marketing discipline plus five years of experience.
• Proven success in client acquisition and contributing to business growth through relationship building and strategic outreach.
• Experience within the electric utility and power engineering sectors.

Responsibilities

• Fully represent and promote the continued growth of Power Engineering services, with a focus on utility design services.
• Develop and implement a strategic sales coverage plan for existing and prospective clients across new regions.
• Proactively identify new business opportunities, market trends, key resources, and areas for growth.
• Conduct local and on-site prospecting activities to generate client interactions and strengthen awareness of Power Engineering capabilities.
• Qualify, pursue, and close new business opportunities using differentiated messaging.
