Job summary

City of Glendale (CA) is hiring for an Open & Promotional Examination with a six-month probationary period in the Electrical Line Mechanic track. The role focuses on constructing, maintaining, and repairing transmission and distribution systems, including overhead and underground work.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and completed an Electrical Line Mechanic Apprenticeship plus a 600-hour LAUSD electrician trainee program (or equivalent) with climbing

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; formal Electrical Line Mechanic Apprenticeship or approved equivalent training.
Completion of 600-hour Electrical Technician/Electrical Distribution Mechanic Trainee program (LAUSD or equivalent) with climbing certification required.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, efficient electrical service to customers and internal departments.
Read and interpret electrical plans and maps to troubleshoot lines and equipment.
Construct, maintain, and repair electrical transmission/distribution systems on overhead and underground networks.
Connect, disconnect, repair, and replace electrical services to customer facilities.
Drive City vehicles to job sites and operate line trucks and related equipment under safety standards.
