Job Description

Under general administrative direction of the General Manager, this upper management position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the long-range and short-term electrical services system planning and electrical services management activities including direct oversight of electrical engineering, field operation, grid system operation, and ongoing operations analysis and improvement.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the General Manager of Glendale Water and Power.

Oral Interview

(Weight: 100%) To evaluate the applicant's experience, education, and general background for the position.

Candidates must pass the exam with a minimum score of 70.00% in order to be placed on the eligible list.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.

Experience

Eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering, including four years in a senior managerial capacity in an electric utility system is required. Direct management experience overseeing electrical engineering, field operation and grid system operation is highly desirable.

Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer with the State of California.

Transportation

A valid California Class C Driver's License is required.

For staff without a valid California Class C Driver's License, the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions is required.
