Job summary

Southern California Edison is seeking a Distribution Journeyman Lineman to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution and communication systems in California. The role involves climbing poles, using safety equipment, and working with a team including apprentices and helpers.

Qualifications

Certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card.
Weigh less than 285 pounds due to safety equipment used by linemen.
Valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.
Experience working with utility poles including climbing.

Responsibilities

Installs, removes, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground distribution and communication systems.
Installs and removes equipment such as poles, cross arms, towers, enclosures, ducts and piping and electrical devices including transformers and switches.
Installs, removes, splices, bonds, terminates, and tests conductor and cable.
Connects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and apparatus.
Uses precautionary safety procedures and PPE when working near energized lines or equipment.
Operates test equipment and construction vehicles up to 1,200 lbs with safe procedures.
Collaborates with apprentices and helpers, providing instruction as needed.
Maintains a safety mindset and adheres to safety practices at all times.
