Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman - Transmission (Maintenance) for entry‑level work on electrical transmission systems. You will participate in construction, maintenance, and repair activities, with emphasis on safety and learning essential lineman skills.

The position involves outdoor work in variable conditions, lifting heavy materials, and supporting crew tasks such as pole setting, rigging, and equipment maintenance. Training and safety are emphasized throughout.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role in electrical transmission work.
• Ability to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Willingness to work outdoors and adapt to weather.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair on energized and de-energized transmission lines.
• Set poles and anchors as part of transmission structures.
• Work with energized high voltage systems, prioritizing safety.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Perform related tasks to complete projects as needed.
• Learn to climb and operate in heights and confined spaces.
• Assist with pole framing, setting and removal.
• Understand grounding procedures and work zone setup.
• Learn basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.
• Operate hand tools and understand their care and maintenance.
• Assist with structure assembly/disassembly and bucket tasks when required.
• Travel long distances on short notice and work extended hours as needed.
• Possess or learn to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
