Electra Grid Solutions seeks a Transmission Groundman to support construction, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage transmission lines. This entry-level role involves manual labor, aiding line crews, and learning the fundamentals of transmission line work.

You will help keep job sites safe, organized, and efficient while developing skills to advance in the trade. The position requires lifting over 50 pounds, outdoor work, and a willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit within 30 days of employment.
• CDL preferred; required to obtain within the first 90 days.
• Ability to perform rigorous physical labor in outdoor environments.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn rigging techniques, hand line use, and knot tying.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform various manual labor tasks in the construction and maintenance of transmission power lines.
• Assemble materials on the ground and hoist them into work areas using hand lines.
• Assist crew members with pole holes, trenching, and backfilling using shovels and hand tools.
• Flag traffic and set up work zones to ensure safety of the public and crew.
• Maintain organization of tools, materials, and equipment on work vehicles.
• Receive training in operation of trucks, equipment, and tools as skills progress.
• Participate in safety training, first aid, and related instruction.
• Work safely on energized and de-energized transmission systems under supervision.
• Assist in stringing wire, setting poles and anchors, and framing structures.
