Job summary

Dashiell invites you to join its Electrical Engineering Intern program in Covington, LA. As a member of a project team, you will assist with design documents, wiring diagrams, and field markups under supervision to develop practical skills in substations and protection schemes.

You will learn NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards, travel to project sites, and gain hands-on experience in substation construction and design while contributing to project schedules.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required, a power focus is preferred.
• Possess knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals and three-phase power systems.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient with standard software.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and drawings for substations under senior engineer supervision.
• Assist with wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and field mark-ups.
• Perform engineering calculations (load flow, relay concepts) under direct supervision.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Spend time at job sites for hands-on knowledge of substation construction and design.
• Deliver work on schedule and communicate potential issues to the team.
