Job summary

This role requires 5+ years in technical roles, 1–3 years of leadership, and strong client/vendor management, with NFPA 70E knowledge; PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a technical role with deep expertise in system-level design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of generators, switchgear, synchronization controls, and other grid support or micro-grid systems.
• 1-3 years of management or leadership experience.
• 1-3 years of client management and/or vendor relationship management experience.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and related standards for energized/high-voltage systems.
• Ability to take ownership of processes through strong product and market knowledge.
• Ability to work with minimal direction using strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and maintain professionalism with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and coordinates all aspects of complex utility solutions within the Power Rent business.
• Monitors the project's time schedule to guarantee delivery and startup on schedule.
• Acts as the site supervisor and primary interface with the utility site leader and other partners.
• Answer technical and application questions regarding Caterpillar power systems for engineers, contractors, sales, and service staff.
• Assists service staff with troubleshooting and resolution of product issues.
• Prepares job safety plan and verifies safety protocols.
• Performs customer service duties to establish positive relations with staff and customers.
• Ensures working conditions reflect safe practices for all project participants.
• Manages product improvements as they become available.
• Elevates high-priority issues to management and Caterpillar service reps.
• Acts as project coordinator for load-in/load-out operations.
• Conducts Pre-Flight walk-throughs.
• Assists management with equipment purchases and lifespan determinations; expert in utility equipment and operations.
• Builds and plans training for utility technicians and provides training from basic to Mastery level.
