Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking an on-site technical lead for Power Rent solutions in utility applications.

You will plan, mobilize, and execute projects, coordinate customer requests, vendor scheduling, and technician availability, serving as the project manager in a dynamic field environment. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems, generators, switchgear, and grid support, along with leadership and client-management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related technical field (EE) or equivalent years of related experience.
• 5+ years of work-related experience in a technical role requiring deep expertise in system-level design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of generators, switchgear, synchronization controls, and other grid support or micro-grid systems.
• 1-3 years of management or leadership experience.
• 1-3 years of client management and/or vendor relationship management experience.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and related standards for working on or around energized and high voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and coordinates all aspects of complex utility solutions within the Power Rent business.
• Manages and monitors the project’s time schedule to guarantee delivery and start-up on schedule.
• Acts as the site supervisor and primary interface with utility site leader and other partners.
• Responds to technical and application questions regarding Caterpillar power systems for engineers and service staff.
• Assists service staff and technicians with troubleshooting and resolution of product issues.
• Prepares job safety plans and verifies safety protocols.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers, technicians, and internal staff.
• Ensures safe working conditions and prioritizes safety for all project participants.
• Builds and plans training for utility technicians from basic information to mastery.
• Performs related duties as required.
