Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. seeks an on-site Power Rent Technical Services Project Manager in Fort Wayne, Indiana to support field and shop operations with planning, mobilizing, and executing power rent solutions.

The role requires coordinating customer requests, vendor scheduling, and technician availability, acting as site supervisor and primary interface with the utility site leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field (EE) or equivalent years of related experience.
• 5+ years of work-related experience in a technical role requiring deep expertise in system-level design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of generators, switchgear, synchronization controls, and other grid support or micro-grid systems.
• 1-3 years of management or leadership experience
• 1-3 years of client management and/or vendor relationship management experience
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and related standards for working on or around energized and high voltage electrical systems
• Able to take ownership of processes and equipment through excellent knowledge of the product and the market.
• Able to work with minimal direction utilizing strong problem-solving skills and project management skills
• Able to adapt to changing environments and uphold professionalism with internal and external customers
• The ability to be certified as a Power Analyst with knowledge of grid tie technology and systems

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and coordinates all aspects of complex utility solutions within the Power Rent business.
• Manages and monitors the project time schedule to guarantee delivery and startup readiness.
• Acts as the site supervisor and primary interface with utility site leader and partners.
• Answers technical questions regarding Caterpillar power systems for engineers, contractors, sales staff, and service.
• Assists service staff and technicians with troubleshooting and resolution of product issues.
• Prepares job safety plan and verifies safety protocols are followed.
• Performs customer service duties to build positive relationships with staff and customers.
• Manages product improvements as they become available.
• Elevates critical issues to Manager, Technical Services, and Caterpillar Service Reps.
• Conducts Pre-Flight walk-throughs and supports equipment purchases/lifespan determinations.
