Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineers, part of the Kiewit family, is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to support power generation projects from design through construction. The role focuses on innovative design, structural calculations, and drawings aligned with EPC contracts and client requirements.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in structural engineering, a relevant ABET-accredited degree, and strong English communication. PE is preferred and office locations include Raleigh, NC, among others.

Qualifications

• Degree required from ABET-accredited program in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in structural engineering/design.
• Prefer experience in power/industrial markets.
• Proficient with engineering software (SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad).
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC.
• PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures including analysis, lateral force resisting system selection, and drawing preparation for power generation projects.
• Apply standards when preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure EPC contract, RFPs, and service agreements requirements are met.
• Research new markets and adapt workflows to deliver project outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners to address structural issues.
• Prepare and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Support managers in achieving department performance goals.

ABET-accredited degree (Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering)
