Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineers, a leader in power engineering, seeks a Mid-Level Structural Design Engineer to join our growing team. You will design structural elements for power generation projects, perform calculations, develop plans, and coordinate with cross-discipline teams and constructors.

The role requires a Civil/Structural ABET-accredited degree, 5+ years of experience, knowledge of ASCE7/ACI/AISC standards, and proficiency in SAP2000, SAFE, and Mathcad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year program.
• At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering and design.
• Experience in the power industry or industrial markets is preferred.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and general computer operations.
• Knowledgeable in engineering software SAP2000, SAFE, and Mathcad.
• Familiar with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and IBC standards.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures including research, selection of lateral force resisting system, analysis, and drawing preparation for power generation projects.
• Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
• Understand and meet EPC, RFPs, and contract requirements.
• Research new markets and adapt workflows to deliver project outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to address structural issues.
• Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Support department managers in achieving performance goals.
