Job summary

Kiewit Corporation is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our Power Engineering team. You will design, analyze, and draw plans for power generation projects, selecting lateral force resisting systems and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet EPC and client requirements.

The role emphasizes applying industry standards, managing project plans and budgets, and collaborating across internal and external partners to deliver safe, cost-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 5+ years of structural engineering and design experience
• Experience in power/industrial markets preferred
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
• Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
• Strong English written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures including lateral force resisting system selection and drawings
• Apply department standards when preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Meet EPC, RFP, and contract requirements
• Research new markets and adapt workflows for project delivery
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to address structural issues
• Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Support department managers in achieving performance goals
