Job summary

Nexus Semiconductor Recruitment is seeking a senior engineer to lead power semiconductor design through manufacturing scale-up and technology planning in a fast-moving startup based in Arizona. You will own device design, optimization, and reliability efforts while coordinating with third-party wafer fabricators.

The role requires deep knowledge of MOSFETs, IGBTs, and BJTs, as well as silicon and silicon carbide device physics, and hands-on fabrication and characterization experiences.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or solid-state physics.
• Five to ten years of experience in power semiconductor technology development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third-party wafer fabricators to identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements.
• Lead device design improvements informed by semiconductor simulations and device testing.
• Conduct semiconductor simulations using Silvaco or Synopsys TCAD.
• Oversee mask layouts and apply semiconductor design best practices.
• Manage prototype and volume semiconductor fabrication development projects.
• Coordinate development lots, including split plans and trial routes.
• Perform or coordinate electrical characterization and physical analysis of test structures.
• Analyze device, foundry, probe, and functional test data to optimize yield and performance.
• Contribute to technology and product roadmaps, milestones, and development priorities.
