Job summary

Siemens seeks candidates for the Power Protection & Automation Field Technician Development Program (PPA FTDP) beginning January 19, 2027. This is a full-time, one-year development path with training, hands-on factory experience, mentorship, and field service rotations across the United States.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Systems Technology, Electronics, Electromechanical Technology, or related technical field.
• Passion for innovation, hands-on technical work, and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively, up to 40 weeks per year, including Monday-Friday travel to customer sites across the United States and occasional Sunday travel.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Supporting factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Performing switchgear functional testing, relay injection testing, and protection system verification.
• Reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Gaining hands-on experience with SIPROTEC relays, DIGSI 5, Omicron test equipment, SICAM A8000, IEC 61850, industrial networks, and fiber-optic systems.
• Documenting test results and communicating technical issues to engineering and project teams.
• Following Siemens and customer safety, quality, and site requirements.
