Job summary

Siemens is seeking qualified candidates for the Power Protection & Automation Field Technician Development Program (PPA FTDP), beginning January 19, 2027. This full-time, one-year program supports testing and commissioning of power protection and automation systems across the United States.

You will rotate through field service assignments, receive hands-on training, and work with experienced technicians on utilities, data centers, and critical power infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Systems Technology, Electronics, Electromechanical Technology, or related field.
• Willingness to travel extensively, up to 40 weeks per year, including travel to customer sites across the United States.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support testing and commissioning of power protection and automation systems.
• Perform factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing, troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Gain hands-on experience with SIPROTEC relays, DIGSI 5, Omicron test equipment, SICAM A8000, IEC 61850, industrial networks and fiber-optic systems.
• Document test results and communicate technical issues to engineering and project teams.
